Student Reflection:
Benjamin Heath(9th)- This year I worked on promoting School Library Month. School Library Month is very important because it raises awareness for libraries and promotes students to read. While working on the School Library Month posters, I became more familiar with the Dewey decimal system.
Wilson Bruce(9th)- This year was my first year in MTAC and I joined last month. During that time period I have learned many things such as the Dewey decimal system which has helped me find the books that I might need.
George Poliachik(9th)- From MTAC I got more experience conducting interviews, video filming, and video editing. I also got more experience with advertising though the posters we've made. I've learned a lot more about the process of the library function and taken away a lot of refined skill, like understanding the Dewey Decimal System.
Landon Wallace(9th)- MTAC was so much fun this year. I learned how to use a camera to take pictures and record videos, and I learned how to edit those videos on Adobe (while also having to deal with the many technical issues along the way). The NCBCE conference really opened me up to new experiences, and Id love to do things like that again.
Christopher Heath(6th)- This year from MTAC I helped with Black history Month , I learned that Black History Month was not started by one person it was more of many people, I also learned how to powerwash a computer and how to take care of a computer.
Riley Hargrove(6th)- This year in MTAC I worked on power washing the schools chromebooks in order to make their computers up to date and running smoother. I learned that power washing and restarting your computer often is very important for your chromebook.
Jack Robinson(6th)- This year in MTAC I made a video on holding chromebooks correctly. This helped by allowing students to hold there chromebooks in a way that kept them safe by not being distracted by the computer, this was also good for the computer, the case and the people around them. I also helped power wash chromebooks, which makes sure the chromebooks are up to date and running smoothly.
Pratit Saha(8th)- One very important thing that I did was attend the NCBCE and communicate with teacher leaders and educators. This was very important because we were the first people from our school to attend the conference. This inspired a shared vision, and modeled the way for our school and especially our MTAC committee to join and do this every year. From doing this, I learned how to use very expensive camera equipment, and how to ask very important, meaningful questions to educators to learn more about.
Thomas Trip(8th)- Being a part of MTAC has been an incredibly enriching experience for me. I've developed invaluable skills such as learning how to use the camera and computer equipment we have. I especially enjoyed discovering my enjoyment of computer systems with my involvement in the Tech Tidbits Team. One of my favorite activities was when we filmed the NCBCE meeting with our new cameras. That was a great opportunity to go ‘downrange’ and get experience in the real world. I am truly grateful for the chance to learn and thrive through my involvement in MTAC.
Weston Williams(8th)- One thing that I have done is power washing Chromebooks in groups. This is important because it prevents computer problems. I learned that you need to work good as a group to be efficient.
Tayten Stocks(10th)- We have helped promote student reading, we have made resources more accessible to parents, and we have helped make a name for our MTAC at WYMLA. I worked to help redesign the media center website. I learned how to design and organize a website to make it more visually appealing.
MTAC Students Redesigned the Media Center Website. They researched other media center websites to determine what they liked and then reached out to those librarians for advice. Ms. Barkley then went into the website and corrected any issues that were not ADA compliant. We currently have no accessibility issues with our Media Center website.
