High School Registration
The course registration process for high school is completed at the middle school. This multi-step process typically begins in mid-February and runs through March. WFMS staff work in collaboration with high school counselors, teachers and administrators to ensure that students have access to the appropriate courses.
Your child will register for classes at the high school they are assigned to attend. If your child's assignment changes during the registration process (due to acceptance at a magnet school, moving, etc.), please notify your child's counselor. All students were provided with an assignment strip in December 2021 that indicates their base school assignment for the upcoming school year. Your base school is determined by your home address through the Office of Student Assignment. Click here to determine your current base school and application schools. (Note: this updates to next year's assignments some time in the Fall.)
Information about the Transfer Period can be found here. If a student's school assignment changes AFTER they register, the 8th Grade Counselor will assist them with their new school's registration.
All current core teachers will make recommendations for Math, Science, English and Social Studies placements. Students are asked to select electives and "alternate electives" during the course registration process. Alternates are electives that the student would like to take if their other electives are not available or do not work with their schedule. All electives should be chosen carefully as changes are not likely to be made if a selected course is received.
