Planning Guides

WCPSS produces planning guides for both middle school and high school. These guides describe the core programs, electives and course descriptions offered at each level. They also discuss promotion and graduation requirements, as well as additional supports available at each level. 

Middle School Promotion Requirements:

WCPSS policy (5530) requires grade-level proficiency in reading and mathematics in order to be promoted to the next grade level in grades 6-8. To be promoted, students must meet test proficiency standards and receive a passing grade (D or better) in: 

In addition to academic performance requirements, students must meet the requirements of the WCPSS attendance policy. Failure to meet the requirements of the attendance policy may result in failure of a class and grade retention.
