Brittany Troutman Mora, originally from Charlotte, NC, is the director of the new South Garner High School Dance Department. She has been teaching in Wake County for 8 years, most recently at Ligon GT Magnet Middle School. She graduated from Meredith College with a BA in dance and education. She has trained in modern, tap, jazz, ballet, and West African in various cities, from North Carolina to New York City with countless well known dance artists. An American Dance Festival Alumna, Mrs. Mora has performed works under dance artists Mark Dendy, Carol Kyles Finley, Shane O’Hara, Robin Harris, and others. She currently performs with the Carol Finley Dance Group. She regularly teaches tap in Wake Forest, NC and works as a guest artist for several dance companies and studios reaching across NC. Mrs. Mora is no stranger to the commercial dance world, judging dance competitions across North and South Carolina on weekends. Her choreography has been featured in the North Carolina Dance Festival, Wake Forest Dance Festival, Wake Ed Partnership's Pieces of Gold and Meredith College’s 30th Anniversary Concert and Alumni Gala and has received several competitive awards for outstanding choreography and concept. She has written and updated specialized dance curriculum for WCPSS magnets and is active in furthering her knowledge of dance through active membership of the National Dance Education Organization and the North Carolina Dance Education Organization. She is thrilled to bring the rich opportunities of dance in the Triangle to her SGHS dancers. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, cooking, hanging with her dog and visiting friends and family.
