Extra-Curricular Activities
Participation in extra-curricular activities helps students develop essential soft skills such as leadership, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, and communication. Green Hope High School offers a wide variety of activities to meet the diverse interests of our student body. More information is available under the Activities tab on our school website.
To participate in extracurricular activities—including athletics and off-campus field trips not tied to a specific class—students must be in good standing both academically and behaviorally.
Fines and Fees
Students are responsible for promptly clearing all fines and fees, including returning books, materials, uniforms, and equipment. Failure to do so may result in loss of eligibility for:
A parking permit
An off-campus lunch pass
Participation in events like prom or athletic tryouts
Fundraising
Per WCPSS policy, all school-sponsored fundraising events must:
Receive prior approval from school administration
Be supervised by a staff member
Students should first consult with their club or activity advisor. Additional questions may be directed to the administrator in charge of fundraising.
Posters and Displays
Flyers and signs are a great way to promote events, but must meet the following criteria:
Must be approved at least 72 hours in advance by the administrator for student activities (submit to the Main Office)
Must include the sponsoring group and the nature of the event
Must have an official “stamp of approval”
Must be removed the day after the event by the responsible group
Must promote school-related activities only; non-school-related postings must go on the community board
Must be displayed only in designated, high-visibility areas
School Functions
Events such as dances, concerts, and athletic competitions are extensions of the school day, and all school rules apply. Dances are typically limited to GHHS students and their approved guests. Guest forms must be submitted in advance and approved by the administration.
Students with multiple suspensions or behavioral concerns may be denied participation in school functions. Students must be in good standing to attend all school-sponsored events.
ATHLETICS
CLUBS
At Green Hope High School, we are committed to challenging, inspiring, and preparing students to reach their full potential as active contributors in a complex and ever-changing global community. Part of that commitment includes creating meaningful opportunities for students to lead and serve in diverse roles.
One such opportunity is participation in a wide variety of student-led clubs and organizations. To ensure these groups operate responsibly and effectively, we’ve developed a mini-guide outlining key expectations and procedures for club and organization administration at GHHS.
