Carpool Procedures
Carpool families should arrive before 7:05 AM to avoid the risk of first-period tardies, which increase between 7:05–7:15 AM.
All students must be dropped off at the designated carpool location—the first entrance when approaching from High House Rd. (You may enter from either direction.) After turning in from the traffic circle, continue down to the roundabout and back up the hill. Only drop off at the sidewalk area—not before—for safety and traffic flow.
Do not use the bus lot or main entrance for drop-off or pick-up. Only student drivers or those with special transportation permits may enter the front circle and must display a valid tag. All others will be turned around.
Bus Procedures and Regulations
Transportation Information:
Students eligible for bus service must register through the WCPSS Bus Registration site. Routes are set by the district and may change based on student needs.
Route info, including pick-up/drop-off times and locations, is available in Infinite Campus. Times may vary during the first few weeks—students should be at their stop at least 10 minutes early.
To check for delays or cancellations, visit GHHS Live Bus Update or use Here Comes the Bus for real-time tracking.
Reminder: Riding the bus is a privilege. Students must follow driver instructions, the WCPSS Code of Student Conduct, and board policies. Misbehavior may result in suspension from transportation.
Student Drivers Procedures
Parking on Campus During the School Day
Only students with an official GHHS parking permit may park on campus between 6:45 AM and 3:30 PM, and only in designated student parking areas. Seniors have priority, and any remaining permits will be awarded to juniors via lottery.
Important Reminders:
Students are not allowed in faculty parking areas between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
No student drivers may enter or exit through the bus lot.
Do not park at nearby locations such as Green Hope Elementary or the Town of Cary tennis courts—violators may be towed.
Permit application info is available on the school website under “Forms.”
Students who park on campus without a valid permit may face disciplinary action, loss of parking privileges, citations, and towing at their own expense. GHHS is not responsible for any damages related to illegal parking or towing.
