Podcasting for Students

It's a recording you listen to online or one that you've downloaded.
They are played on internet-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops.
These "shows" often have a common topic or theme.
Some are regularly scheduled (daily, weekly, monthly or seasonally) to build a following or audience.
Others are posted at various times.

a phone, tablet or laptop with a microphone (or use an external microphone)
recording & editing software (such as Audicity or GarageBand)
an online site or platform to post your recordings: Google Sites or Anchor (ages 13+)

Do you want to create your podcasts alone or with others?
Figure out what you like to talk about! What are your passions?
Do your research! You want to be sure to provide accurate information!
Let your personality shine through!
Consider including music in your introduction and closing. Use the GarageBand app to create your own!

Book Clubs for Kids - A group of students talk about a book with a celebrity reader and feature an interview with the author. (ages 9+)
Brains On! - Each show features a different kid with co-host Molly Bloom to find answers to questions about the world using science and history. (ages 6+)
But Why - A broadcast by Vermont Public Radio, host and producer Jane Lindholm answers curious kids' questions. (Ages 5+)
Classics for Kids - Learn about different composers and their works. (Ages 5+)
KidNuz - Four female broadcast journalists report a daily news show to inform and engage kids.
Shabam! - This show blends science with fictional stories and is hosted by a doctor of emergency medicine, a science journalist and a filmmaker! (ages 8+)
The Show About Science - Nine year old Nate began this podcast when he was 5 about the wonderful world of scientific research and discovery! (ages 3+)
Tumble Science Podcasts for Kids - Co-hosted by a science journalist and a teacher (ages 6+)
