About Jazz Band
Students in grades 7-12 will learn the exciting world of jazz in this ensemble. Students will learn different styles such as rock, blues, swing, Latin, contemporary, improvinisation and much more. Enrollment in an official WCS band classes is not required for Jazz Band, but students are expected to have proficiency on the instrument they wish to play.
Instruments in jazz band are usually alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trombone, trumpet, percussion and bass. However, we welcome students such as clarinet, flute and French horn if they want to try it (or learn a secondary instrument)!
Performances
The jazz band will perfom in school opportunities with other WCS band ensembles. More additional information will be shared soon. Stay tuned!
