Note from Mrs. Louderback
As we near the end of this school year, I encourage you all to join us in finishing strong! Our students have shown incredible resilience and determination, and now is the time to rally together and support them in crossing the finish line with confidence.
Let's celebrate the progress they've made and encourage them to give their best effort until the very end. With your continued partnership and encouragement, we can ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication. Let's make these final moments of the school year count!

3-5 is developing pickleball and team handball skills.
6th is learning track and field events.
Art
This month in art class, students in K-2 are learning about silhouettes and how to make space on a flat paper by using overlapping. Third grade students are building string designs. Students in grades 4-6 are creating guided paintings that are sharpening their painting skills and teaching new brush techniques.
Music
In music class this month we are all about movement. Students will be dancing, singing and playing various instruments but we will focus primarily on how we can use our bodies to represent the sounds we hear. Students will participate in folk dances from all different time periods, and many different cultures. We will also do lummi stick activities, scarf dances and use all of these activities as an opportunity to explore and express dynamics and form in music.

A few seasonal reminders:
Please give over-the-counter non-drowsy antihistamines such as Claritin or Zyrtec prior to sending your child to school. Students with seasonal allergies really struggle to concentrate and learn throughout the day when they have itchy eyes, severe congestion, sneezing, coughing, and post-nasal drainage.
After your child has been outside playing, scan for deer ticks in their skin and hair. Consider purchasing a tick key on Amazon. See the picture below for a little tool that makes removing ticks easier.
It’s that time of year when students start presenting with poison ivy. You may not realize that one common source of poison ivy spread is the family dog. They run around in the grass, roll in just about anything, and poison ivy oils stick to their fur. If you pet them, or they rub against your legs, chances are it won’t be long until you find yourself scratching! To prevent this, bathe your pet more often in the spring and summer, especially if you take them hiking, or you suspect they are running around in areas where poison ivy flourishes.
Please remember to submit signed dental forms for Kindergarten and 3rd graders, as well as signed physical exam forms for Kindergarten and 6th graders by the end of the school year! Please have 6th grade immunizations updated prior to the first day of 7th grade. These include Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis (Tdap), as well as Meningococcal vaccines.
