Reminders whilst on the field at break & lunch:
If you are playing football/are on the fields please ensure you are not sitting/gathering on any of the stairs behind the geography hut. These are fire exits and must be clear at all times. This includes NOT leaving items on the stairs. Thank you.
Twilight Curriculum 2023
A reminder that applications close on Tuesday at 5pm. Some reminders on submitting your application:
If you are interested in participating in the Oxbridge programme in Year 10, remember the HPQ is compulsory, so if you have not completed the HPQ either in Year 9 or as part of Ingenium, you must undertake it in Year 10.
Please ensure you reach the minimum word count on the application questions! It is a good idea to draft your answers in a Google doc first!
If you are interested in the Oxbridge programme, already studying Latin or twilight French and have already completed your HPQ, you do not need to submit an application form- please email Miss Al-Kahky and confirm you would like to be considered.

Don't forget this week is the Twilight Curriculum Launch event. Come along to find out about programmes such as:

Oxbridge programme- new for 2023!
Unfortunately due to some late staffing changes it will not be possible to run the Finance programme.
We have however, added a new programme for students entering Year 10, an Oxbridge group. Come along on Tuesday to find out more. Check with your parents/carers if they have registered to attend!
If you are coming, please sit with your parents and fill the rows from the front!

Clothing for Enrichment week~ Please take note!
If you are off on a trip this week, have a great time!
If you are in school, your activities are on G04S, including what you need to wear and where you need to meet. Only full school uniform, and full school PE kit will be allowed - no variations please. If you have one activity in PE kit on a day, and the other in uniform, you can wear PE kit for the whole day.

We are hosting an information event on Tuesday 11th July where you will be able to find out about these programmes and how to apply. This letter, which was sent home, details how to register your attendance at the information event. Please take some time to look through this booklet outlining effective revision strategies. Use this to reflect on the revision that you have been doing outside of school, and ask yourself if there is anything you could improve on?

Enrichment week activities- in school sign up:
If you have any days during enrichment week that have not yet been assigned an activity, they will be showing as 'free activity TBC' on Go4Schools. I will now be assigning these in school activities, and so if this applies to you (check the tutor section on Go4S), please use this form to submit your preferences. Learning about Life Enrichment Topics, ensure you have signed up!
Reminder to all students in years 9 and 10 to fill in your Enrichment topic options for next term by the end of today please. This information is on your google classroom. Thank you, Ms Easton.
*Reminder* Legal & Law careers café this week:
Just a reminder to those of you that have already signed up, the next one is Law & Legal, on this Thursday, 18th May Period 5 in LRC2. This is now fully booked. Only those who have signed up will be permitted to attend. Mrs Targett.

'Talk Consent' workshop for all Year 9 students **Reminder**: On Friday 5th May during period 1, all Year 9 students will attend a one hour workshop delivered by a group called 'Talk Consent'. They will be providing important information around the incredibly important topic of 'consent'. This workshop builds on our relationships and sex education curriculum which is delivered in Learning about Life. You will be seated in your tutor groups (in the way you are seated during year group assemblies). We will have instructions on the screen.

Girls Rugby Taster Event @ Haywards Heath Rugby:
Haywards Heath Rugby Club is hosting a taster event next Tuesday 25th April for girls in years 5-9 to try out the game and find out more about girls rugby at the club. Girls of all levels of experience and their families are very welcome. There will be touch rugby games and various fun activities from 5.00pm-6.15pm followed by a gathering in the clubhouse to meet some of the existing players and the coaching team. Please spread the word to help us keep girls rugby growing and thriving at HHRFC. Mrs Watson.

This is due to many classes being well in to the GCSE curriculum and as such the level of catch up content is significant. If you are having any difficulties in your subjects please speak with your class teachers in the first instance for further support. As you will remember from the options period, we do expect students to study their GCSE subjects for the duration of Key Stage 4 (throughout years 9 -11). Thank you, Ms Fitzgerald.

The much anticipated Careers Cafes are back, the second one will be on Thursday 20 April during P5 in LRC 2 (first Thursday back after the Easter holidays) and will be about Environmental Sustainability in Construction. Sign up here ASAP. First come first served so don't delay!!

British Science Week poster competition:
Design a poster about the theme 'connections'. Some ideas could be about exploring how all of our body parts are connected and work together, the connections between our actions and the impact on the environment or even how internet connection has changed the world. Careers Cafe's:
Please be aware that the Google sign up for the Careers talks will close when they are full or 3 days prior to the talk, whichever comes first. The talk will be removed and you will be unable to sign up for it. As was mentioned, it is first come first served.

3G Pitch closure at lunch:
Due to the low numbers of students using the 3G pitch at lunch, the 3G will no longer be available for use at lunch time. A reminder you can play basketball on the courts should you wish. We look forward to opening the fields as the weather becomes drier later in the Spring term.
