Did you know that you can see the summer exam timetable via the school website, KS4 website or by clicking here. You will receive a personal exam timetable after Easter.
We have also prepared an examinations booklet to help answer any questions you may have regarding exams - please find the link here and on the useful links page of the KS4 website.
Thanks, Mr Atwell
Attention Year 11 Triple Science Students (11D / TR2 – Mr Dean & Mr Perry)
Please note a minor change to your timetable:
Monday B4 will now be Biology with Mr Perry
Wednesday B3 will now be Chemistry with Mr Dean
Year 11 Geography Intervention – Thursdays (Registration)
I am pleased to confirm that the Year 11 Geography intervention on Thursdays during resgistration will continue. This will now be led by Mr Graves, with all other details remaining the same.
These changes will sync to student timetables overnight.
Ms Fitzgerald.
We have noticed an increasing number of students gathering in the area outside PE and below the snack shack, outside the dining hall.
Please remember that this area is out of bounds for socialising. You may only use this space to access the toilets (break only) or water fountains during break and lunch, and then move on straight away. This also includes the area outside the studio by the steps.
Students should not gather in this area at any time. Duty staff will be monitoring the space and will ask students to move on if necessary.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep the area clear. Ms Fitzgerald.
Just a reminder that any changes to your Masterclass timetable can only be made in person, Monday to Thursday. Please avoid emailing about changes, as these conversations are much easier to have face to face.
If you are thinking about making a change, please use the programme information available via the link at the top of the page to review what is on offer in each period.
Changes can be made at any point throughout the series. This flexibility is in place to ensure these periods remain as useful as possible in supporting your exam goals. Please just make sure you see me in person, Monday to Thursday.
Same-day changes are not possible, as timetables sync with registers overnight.
Ms Fitzgerald
This week we begin our Masterclass Programme. Please read the information below carefully so you know exactly what is expected.
PE lessons: If you have been allocated PE, you must arrive with the correct kit. If you repeatedly forget your kit, you will be moved into a revision session instead.
Revision sessions: You must arrive fully prepared. You will not be given permission to leave the lesson to collect equipment or resources of any kind.
Masterclasses: You must attend only the sessions you have been timetabled for. You are not permitted to work elsewhere during these times.
By tomorrow morning, you will receive a summary of your allocation. This will confirm:
The masterclasses you have been allocated
Whether you have PE or revision alongside these
Please note:
Specific PE or revision classes will not be listed yet. These will be confirmed later once timetables are updated. This will take place throughout this week and next.
While many of you have received the number of masterclasses you requested, this has not been possible for everyone. This is usually due to:
Not enough choices being provided
Oversubscription to popular masterclasses
Clashes between requested sessions
Not enough demand for a subject: Note this year, there has not been enough demand to run French, Spanish or Table Tennis.
To ensure changes are managed fairly, your summary will include a priority code. This applies for this week only.
Priority Code 1: You must see me in person from Tuesday morning onwards when you receive your allocations. You will have first access to any available spaces. This includes those students for whom have missed out on the most masterclasses.
Priority Code 2: You may see me in person from Wednesday morning onwards. This includes students whom have been allocated one less masterclass than they requested.
All other students: Changes can be requested from Thursday at break onwards only.
Note, it is not possible to process same day changes, as such changes for the same day on Friday will not be possible. This is due to the way our registers sync.
You can see here where there is space should you wish to join a different masterclass.
Well done on the mature approach you have taken to submitting your choices. I hope you find that Fridays are hugely useful and that you leave each Friday feeling as though you have achieved a great deal and are well prepared for the weekend ahead.
Ms Fitzgerald.
Your scheduled vaccinations are taking place today. A member of staff will come and collect you from your lesson at the correct time if your parent or carer has already given consent.
While you are waiting:
Please remain quiet and respectful of others.
Follow staff instructions carefully.
Once you have had your vaccination, please return to your lesson promptly.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Mock examinations will take place in school from Tuesday 24th February (after half term).
A copy of the Year 11 Mock Exam Timetable can be found here: Year 11 Mock Timetable. You will also receive an individual timetable closer to the time.
You should now begin thinking about how to prepare effectively for your mock exams.
In preparation, please consider the following;
In preparation, please consider the following;
1. Creating a revision timetable: Create a revision timetable, starting by adding any clubs or social commitments. Templates can be found on this page of the KS4 website.
2. Deciding what to revise: You now have a PLC for each subject, which lists all topics covered. Most subjects will let you know which topics to focus your revision on for the mock exam - begin revising the areas you find most challenging.
3. How to revise effectively: Revision looks different for every student, so it is important that you use this time to try different approaches and discover what works best for you, ahead of future mocks and the summer exams next year. To keep things manageable, we recommend the following three key revision strategies:
Mind maps
Flashcards
Low-stakes quizzing (including the use of past exam questions)
We are with you all the way, please do speak to your teachers or community teams if you have any concerns or want advice.
If you are considering an apprenticeship after you finish Year 11, the "recruitment season" for 2026 has officially begun. While some vacancies appear later in the spring, many large national companies recruit now.
Important Reminder - even if you are 100% sure you want an apprenticeship, always have a "Plan B". Make sure you have also applied for a college course or Sixth Form place as a backup.
Take a look at a selection of local apprenticeships available to apply for now.

Mr Tinkler
Thank you to all those who submitted their form on time. I am currently finalising allocations.
Timetables will be confirmed next Monday. Please note that any allocations are subject to change until then, as I continue to finalise revision and PE classes. You may notice some allocations appearing in the meantime; however, these will not be final until Monday 12th January.
I will provide a further update next Monday outlining how to request any changes, as well as which sessions have available spaces and which are operating with waiting lists.
Please note that I will not be responding to any questions regarding allocations until after next Monday, once all allocations and classes have been confirmed.
Lessons this Friday will run as currently timetabled, including your PE and Learning About Life lessons.
During Learning About Life, you will be expected to complete independent revision. Please arrive prepared to work independently, as you will not be permitted to leave the room to collect resources or equipment.

Message from Collyer's - "As we approach our application deadline in January, please find attached a flyer and a social media post again which I would be very grateful if you would send out and put on your systems to share with your Year 11 students so they do not miss the opportunity to get their applications in on time"
Mrs Targett on behalf of Collyer's.
Enjoyment of school forms a vital part of you wanting to come in, engage with lessons and ultimately, succeed when you take your GCSEs and move on.
We would like to know a bit more about how much you enjoy / have enjoyed school over the years, and also what could make it even better. Please complete the questions below to help us with this.
Mr Atwell.
The form will close at 3.00pm today.
If you have not yet submitted, please make sure you watch the video in full before making your selection.
If you wish to edit your submission, this must also be done before 3.00pm today.
It is really important that you watch the video in its entirety. Partway through, you will be asked to pause and refer to link number 2 below. Only after you have finished watching the whole video should you then click link number 3 to access the form.
Thank you for taking the time to do this carefully.

On Thursday morning this week we will have a practice interview session taking place. The interviews are being held in school by professionals from the local business community who have kindly volunteered their time. This is great practice to prepare you for your college or apprenticeship applications. You will be allocated a time slot and your interview will last approximately 10 minutes.
Thank you, Mrs Targett.
This is a reminder to please complete your form for the yearbook. The cut-off date is Thursday 18 December. Messages not filled in will be completed with a generic comment, so please submit yours now to avoid this.
Please click here to add your comments.
Thank you 🙂

Due to changes in privacy rules, we now need to gain your consent for us to share information about you with Post 16 providers. Without this consent we cannot share information that is requested from the colleges that you apply to.
This form allows us to share important information about you with colleges and post 16 providers. For example, colleges will ask us for a reference for you, and we need your permission to send out that information. It is therefore important that all students complete this Google form as soon as possible.
Mrs Targett.
It is that time of year again when we start collecting for the yearbook. Please could you fill in the google form below with your messages.
If you have any photos you would like to add to the yearbook please email them to lbuckley@wardenpark.co.uk.

Ms Buckley.
This Friday, we will be releasing your predicted grades after school. These grades are useful as they represent your teachers’ predictions of what you are likely to achieve, based on the evidence they have so far and their knowledge of you as a student.
If you are a role-model student, your grades are likely to reflect this. If there are areas where you could improve, remember — it’s absolutely possible to raise your predicted grades as the year progresses.
When applying to colleges or post-16 providers, you will need to use your predicted grades. You do not need to include any other grades unless specifically requested.
Finally…
Don’t forget that next Monday after school, there is a Revision Evening to which your parents and carers have been invited. Students are also encouraged to attend. It starts at 6pm in the Assembly Hall and will last for around an hour.
See you there!
Mr Atwell
As we approach your mock exams, we are ensuring that you have everything you need to succeed in these exams. The following will support you in your preparations;
This Friday 10th October - P1 please go straight from tutor to the Assembly Hall where we have a revision workshop to help you with revision strategies.
Next week - this is revision week where staff in all subjects will help you with revision in their subject specifically. They will be going through your PLC and helping you to focus your revision during this time.
Monday 20th October - Revision Evening; you and your parents are invited to come into school for a revision evening from 6 - 7pm, with advice and guidance to help you in your mocks and beyond.
We know that many of you are trying to balance homework with revision, and from next week, staff have been asked to help you balance this by setting revision based homework focused on your mock papers.
Good luck - remember that the effort you put in now will help you not only in the mocks, but is also money in the bank when it comes to your summer exams.
Mr Atwell
If you are interested in potentially attending Collyer's when you move on from us next summer, then we highly suggest that you go and have a look at the College, meet some of the teachers and find out more about what Collyer's can offer you. Mrs Targett.
Year 11 VIP Area at lunch 1: We are pleased to announce that during Lunch 1 the mezzanine area will be solely available to Year 11 students. We are awaiting some new furniture, but we want this space to be enjoyed as a privilege for our senior students. It is important that the very highest standards of behaviour are displayed, as students may be asked to leave the area if these expectations are not met.
Note, break and during lunch 2, the mezzanine is a quiet space. Students seated up here must be quiet to enable others students to enjoy their lunch in this area.
Bags in the Dining Hall: To ensure the dining hall is more comfortable for everyone, bags are not permitted at break or lunch. The only exception will be in cases of extreme adverse weather, and staff will advise you when this applies. This will help avoid bags becoming wet from heavy rain.
Queues: Please ensure you do not block the main entryways when queueing for Parkes. Wait for staff to tell you when to move forward or enter the servery area.
At lunchtime, please note:
Hot meals (street food) are served on the left.
Deli (grab and go) is served on the right.
Please choose the most appropriate queue for your selection.
The Quiet Space during Lunch 1 is open from today. Please remember it is a quiet space – you must sign in using the QR code, and board games are available. The rooms can be found here. Be sure to look at Week B for today!
Finally, the water fountains for Key Stage 4 are located just outside the entrance to the toilets by Ferguson.
If you have any queries about expectations at break and lunch, please do come and find me, I am usually in the dining hall.
