Essential Information For Parents/Carers
Payments: Please note that all payments are non-refundable. If your child is unwell at the time of the trip, and you are able to provide medical evidence, the school may be able to submit an insurance claim to recover some or all of the costs. If your child decides not to attend the trip for any other reason, it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to find a suitable replacement. Once the replacement has made all necessary payments to bring their account up to date, a refund may be issued.
CfL:Please note that if students are to go on a school trip they must be presenting the best of our values consistently. If a student has a CfL score of above 2.7 at the time of the trip, they will be unable to attend the trip and will not be eligible for a refund as final balances will have been paid to the providers. Please be assured that as a school we always balance the need for the consistent implementation of our CFL grade, with the need to make reasonable adjustments to meet the individual needs and circumstances of all students.
Medical Needs: Parents/carers of children with long-term medical needs are encouraged to have a discussion with the Medical Welfare Officer prior to booking onto a residential trip. The Academy accepts no liability in the event that medical conditions/medication are not declared/re-declared at the point of booking. Parents/carers should make no assumptions that medical information has been shared from previously attended schools or third parties, e.g. the school nursing team.
Parents/carers are reminded that if your child has a medical condition which requires medication, they should bring this with them on the trip. For example, those pupils with asthma and/or severe allergies, please make sure they have their inhalers and/or adrenaline auto-injectors with them, along with any antihistamines they may need.
International Trips: It is the responsibility of the Parents/Carers to obtain VISAs/ESTAs and suchlike should their child/children require them. The school will not obtain these for students. Parents/Carers are reminded that students need to have at least 6 months on their passports at the point of travel.
