This page advertises the trips that we are running for Year 7 this year during Character Enrichment Week. In order to secure your child's place on a day trip, parents/carers must complete a simple two-step process.
Step 1) Complete a Google Form, which will open in January. You will be alerted to this in the School Newsletter during the first week back after Christmas. The form will guide you through your child's options and help us to record your choices. The form helps prevent parents/carers from signing their children up to multiple trips that occur on the same day or which are not for their year group.
Step 2) Pay the entire balance of the trip by 1st March.
If your child does not wish to participate in any of the day trips offered, they will be able to choose from a variety of in-school activities; these are generally free (with a couple of exceptions). These will be advertised after Easter. Please scroll to the bottom of the page for more information regarding the in-school offer.
Please note that parents/carers must complete both of these steps by 1st March in order to secure their child's place. All payments are non refundable, with the exception of the fishing and Go Karting trips*, so please make sure that your child is sure that they want to attend the trip.
*These trips have much smaller capacity than the other day trips. As such, we understand that if your child's friends do not get a place, your child may want to withdraw, thus the fee for these trips is refundable until the end of March.
Students are welcome to bring their phone on a day trip but they should be turned off and remain in their bags. They should only use them in an emergency, such as to call the trip leader on the trip phone; to contact parents/carers with regards to transport home; or to purchase something.
We want students to 'be present' and enjoy their day with their peers; mobile phones can be a distraction from this and therefore we expect that they remain turned off whilst on the trip unless they need to use it in an emergency. Students using their phones outside of this remit risk having their phones confiscated for the duration of the trip.
Please note, student mobile phones are not covered under the Academy Insurance and thus students bring their mobile phones at their own risk.
Get ready for a high-energy adventure! You’ll rotate through rock climbing, archery, and laser tag, plus join PE for trampolining and table tennis, spending one full hour on each activity.
Whether you’re racing up the climbing wall, aiming for the bullseye, bouncing into new tricks, or battling it out in laser tag, there’s something for everyone. Come ready to challenge yourself, try new skills, and have a great time!

These are run on the school campus and are generally free of charge to all; there may be a couple of paid activities but the fees are low.
In previous years we have run activities such as:
Film in a Day - this is run by the English department and includes making your own movie!
Art Sculpture - make your own sculpture from plaster!
Making Focaccia bread in Food Tech.
Rocket Launching! - this is run by the science department and includes making your own launchable rocket!
Day of Sport
Some students have attended Forest School via invitation. This will continue to run in this way for 2026.
Please note that the above activities are subject to change and are not definite for this year. The in-school offer will be advertised after Easter.
