The school timetable is collapsed for at least 3 days to allow a variety of trips and in-school activities to take place. Students and parents choose which residential trips, day trips, and in-school activities they would like their child to attend. There are a variety of trips and activities to suit all budgets. Trips and activities change year on year. It is not possible to confirm trips/activities before the launch dates listed below.
Residential trips
These are marketed in September. Year 7 always have a UK residential trip that typically costs approximately £260 for 2 nights. Years 8-10 are offered a range of international trips including a trip to Spain for GCSE students studying Spanish and a Paris trip for GCSE students studying French. This year we have launched trips to: Cologne, Germany; New York, USA; Berlin, Germany; PGL centre, Swindon; Deers Leap, East Grinstead; Florida, USA; and Kleinarl, Austria. In previous years we have led trips to Peru, South of France and Ghana to name but a few!
Day trips
These are marketed in January. The costs typically range from £20-£60 depending on the trip. This year we have trips to Thorpe Park theme park; Thorpe Park Water Sports; London Science Museum; The Tower of London; and Tilgate Park. In previous years we have run trips to Hever Castle, Brighton, and Wakehurst Place to name but a few!
In-school activities
These are launched in April and are mostly free. These take place on the school site and are led either by an external organisation or by WPSA staff. Activities that we have run in previous years include: Scavenger hunt ;Lego robots; Army team building days; Altitude sports; drama workshops; make your own model plane; film in a day workshop; sculpture workshop; and 'Warhammer' to name but a few!
Costs and payment schedules
Where possible, we discount the price of trips and activities for students that we receive Pupil Premium funding. Deposits are requested in October for residential trips. Payment plans begin in November and typically run until March/April. Parents/carers are required to make payments on time in order to secure their child's place on a trip/activity. Deposits are non refundable.
