Work-Based Learning placements represent the pinnacle of the Career-Related Education experience. To qualify for a WBL placement, a student must be in the 11th or 12th grade, at least 16 years old and have their own transportation. Students must have taken at least one CTAE class in a defined Career Pathway in order to participate. Before being accepted into the Work-Based Learning program, all students must complete an application, have GOOD attendance, NO major discipline issues, and at least a 2.5 GPA. An ideal candidate for the program would be one that has completed one of the CTAE pathways, has a job placement that is directly related to the pathway classes they have taken and wishes to pursue post-secondary opportunities in the related area. Walton County Schools offers a Fire Internship program for those students wishing to pursue firefighting as a career. To apply to the program, fill out the application on the MAHS website on-line under the Departments – Work Based Learning tab or come by room 215 on the Green Hall and see Mrs. Tricia Brown or Ms. Amanda Foley.
