The study of the “why of where”- Why do things occur where they do? How does location shape life? How do humans affect the environment and vice versa? Explore how humans have understood, used, and changed the surface of Earth. You’ll use the tools and thinking processes of geographers to examine patterns of human population, migration, and land use.

Provides students with a comprehensive, intensive study of major events and themes in United States military engagements in the modern era of history. Beginning with WWI, the course examines major events and themes throughout United States Military history and significant developments in war fighting in the early 21st century.

The scientific study of behavior and mental processes. A unique science that often necessitates the use of special measurements and research methods. The course has four sections: psychological foundations and research; biological foundations; change in behavior and cognition; and variability of behavior among individuals and groups.

Students will experience America’s history through film, films chosen for this class are presentations of history rather than documentations of history. That is, they are reenactments of historical events rather than documentary records of events.

This course equips students with the opportunity to develop important writing, editing, interviewing, photography, and design skills while creating a product that students and families will cherish for years to come. Some students will not have room in their schedule for the yearbook class, but there will still be an after school component.
