***Most 2 & 4 year colleges require 2 foreign language credits of the same language for admission.
*Open to 10th, 11th, & 12th grades only
Spanish I introduces the Spanish language including all communication skills within a range of selected topics and develops an understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures. Students in grades 10 - 12 may enroll in this course. It is a prerequisite for Spanish II, and it is offered during the fall semester.
Spanish II enhances Level One skills in Spanish by continuing to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in an integrated way and increases understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures. This course fulfills college admissions requirements (varies per college/university) for completing two levels of the same foreign language. It is a prerequisite for Spanish III, and it is offered in spring semester.
Spanish III continues to build on the concepts taught in Spanish I & II, provide continued language development through exploration of familiar and unfamiliar topics, and provide opportunities for a broader and more extensive understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures. Spanish III is a prerequisite for Spanish IV. Course availability varies per semester. Generally, smaller class sizes allow for more practice and for more individualized feedback from the teacher. Please consider how much these classes will help you prepare for college and how much more marketable they will make you in the workplace.

*These courses count as rigorous courses for Georgia's HOPE & ZELL MILLER Scholarships, and many competitive four year colleges now require Level 3 or higher of the same foreign language as an entrance requirement.
