College + Career Readiness

College and career readiness (CCR) refers to the level of preparedness for academic work beyond high school. CCR goes beyond simply being able to acquire subject matter knowledge. Learning skills and cognitive strategies such as problem solving, conducting research, communication (written and verbal), reasoning with precision and accuracy, time management, study skills, note taking, strategic reading, goal setting, self-awareness, persistence, etc., are also very important. As students develop these skills and strategies, it is also imperative that they learn to navigate the systems and procedures for post-secondary life whether college or career. The College and Career Readiness Department, in conjunction with your school site Student Services, are here to help! Please utilize the resources provided here and feel free to reach out to us with any questions.
