Business & Finance Industry Sector

Education and training in the Business & Finance industry will help students acquire marketable, fundamental world skills and master basic business principles and procedures. The industry sector employs more than six million people in related occupations with careers that offer exciting challenges, favorable pay, and successful futures.

Three pathways are currently offered in the Business & Finance industry sector: Business Management, Financial Services, and International Business. For students not enrolled in the District's Academy of Business & Finance, a Business Management Pathway is provided at Redwood High School. The Pathway focuses on Business creation, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and idea generation. The course sequence includes Foundations of Business and Empowering Entrepreneurs.

Entry Level Careers (with high school diploma)

Account Clerk, Audit Clerk, Bookkeeper, Human Resources Specialist, Bank Teller, New Account Clerk, Claims Clerk, Insurance Appraiser, Records Processor, Brokerage Clerk

Technical Level Careers (with AA or AS degree or certificate)

Business Consultant, Research & Development Manager, Tax Preparer, Business Manager, Administrative Assistant, Training & Development Specialist, Loan Specialist, Financial Analyst, Purchasing Agent, Insurance Claims Agent

Professional Level Careers (with BA or BS degree+)

Human Resources Manager, Stock Broker, Real Estate Broker, Finance Director, Business Teacher, Accountant, Chief Financial Officer, Marketing Manager, Escrow Officer, Sales Manager
