Attendance Matters—Every Day & On Time!
Being at school and on time each day helps our Jr. Patriots start strong and stay on track with their learning. Morning routines and first lessons set the tone for the day, and every minute counts. We understand that sometimes children may be too sick to attend, and we want them to stay home to rest and recover when that happens. Otherwise, we encourage all students to be present and ready to learn each day. Thank you for helping your child build strong habits and make the most of every school day!
CPE Blood Drive & CPE Reading Day
Cecil Picard 4H students collected over 320 coats to be donated for those in need . The 4H officers spent numerous hours collecting donations and preparing the coats. Thank you to all who donated!
Mrs. Darbi’s third graders created vertical number lines. Each group was able to measure liquid volume to make a measuring bottle that contains 1 liter of water. Great job third graders!
CPE had a surprise visitor for 4th grade This week! Mrs. Jennifer’s ELA classes participated in the Honor Flight letter writing program in September. Her students were randomly matched with a veteran flying to DC to visit the monuments dedicated to the veterans who bravely fought for our freedoms.
Mrs. Jennifer’s classes assigned veteran, Mr. Spaulding, sent thank you emails to the classes that wrote to him. He was so touched with their positive notes of love and appreciation. In fact, he was SO excited to receive the letters that he and his wife took a “slight” detour on their road trip from Wisconsin and came to CPE!!!!
When he walked in the room, Mrs. Jennifer’s students were literally amazed to see him!!!
He was received with rounds of applause, huge smiles and more words of support and admiration! Mr. Spaulding was so touched with their words of love and gratitude that he got emotional numerous times.
It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Spaulding in person and to see the result of our written words of support!
CPE's First PBIS Event was a huge success! A special thank you to all the parent volunteers who dedicated their time to ensure our students had a blast!
Mrs. Durbin's class earned another 20 chainlinks. As a reward, they voted on having a “read-in.” Students were able to find a cozy corner and read with flashlights in the dark. Several students were able to earn AR points through this fun activity and engage in reading in a new way.
Cecil Picard AR 2025-2026
This year, we’re taking our AR reading goals to the next level! 📚 Our mission is to help every Jr. Patriot grow as a reader and develop a true love for books. Each nine weeks, students will work toward their own AR reading goals—and your encouragement at home is the secret ingredient to their success.
Let’s cheer them on, celebrate their progress, and make this our biggest reading year yet! Together, we can inspire a school full of lifelong readers! 💙❤️
Each 9 weeks students will take the STAR test. An individual goal will be given to each student based on their STAR results. AR Parties will be attended by students who make 100% of their goal and have at least 85% accuracy.
CPE's First AR Party is Friday, October 17th!
CPE PBIS Information
At CPE, we’re committed to reducing office referrals by embracing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). PBIS sets clear expectations, reinforces positive behavior, and provides consistent support to help students make great choices. By recognizing and rewarding positive actions, we’re building a respectful, productive, and fun school community.
Grading Period Celebrations
Celebrations take place at the end of every grading period. Students who go the entire grading period without any major office referrals get to participate in these events. Students start fresh for every grading period event.

📚 Readers are Leaders – Year 2! 📚
We’re kicking off another exciting school year with the Million Word Reader Challenge – Year 2! Last year, our Jr. Patriots read an incredible amount, and we can’t wait to see them soar even higher this year!
Reading opens doors to knowledge, creativity, focus, and lifelong learning. Whether it’s reading aloud together, talking about a favorite book, or carving out quiet reading time each day – every word counts toward our goal!
Families, we need YOU to join the challenge! Let’s inspire our students to not only become stronger readers but to fall in love with reading for life.
Let’s make this another record-breaking year!
Happy Reading! 💙❤️
