We will be implementing a car rider tag system-Car Rider Pro again this year. Each car should have a tag to hang on their rearview mirror. Car rider tags are required to go through the car rider line. This tag will be scanned automatically upon arrival by an electronic scanner located on the modular buildings so that students can line up in the appropriate order for a more efficient dismissal process. Tags from previous years are still active and can be used again. Additional tags can be purchased in the office for a $5 fee. This is crucial in ensuring that everyone gets home safely and that dismissal runs as efficiently as possible.
In the morning, the car rider gate opens at 7:20 am and begins unloading at 7:40 am. Please have students remain in the car until they see a duty teacher open the door and welcome them in. The car rider line ends at 8:00 am. The car rider gate is locked at 8:05 am.
In the afternoon, the car rider gate opens at 2:45 pm and begins loading at 3:20 pm. All car riders should be picked up by 3:40 pm.
Enter through Sammy Lane or Terry Drive. Follow the yellow arrows until you reach the gate and enter the CPE gravel road on the edge of the playground.
DO NOT enter from E. Corine or S. Albert Street. Turning into the gate from these roads is not permitted.
Follow the blue arrows until you reach the pick up/drop off area.
Once in this area, follow the white arrows.
When dropping off or picking up your children, please DO NOT pull away from the line until the duty teacher waves you off. This is especially important for the first car in line. Duty teachers will wave once all cars in the section have been unloaded and students are safely on the sidewalk in the morning and once all students in the section have been safely loaded into their cars in the afternoon.**
Please pull up as close as possible to the vehicle in front of you to avoid gaps in our line. This will allow us to load/unload as many students as possible for a more efficient arrival and dismissal.
If you need to buckle your child into a car seat, please pull up into the parking spaces in front of the maintenance cage on the left side of the dismissal line. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
After dropping off or picking up your children, please do not turn left out of the drive. Right turns only.
For the safety of our students, all changes that need to be made in how a student goes home must be done in writing and given to the student’s homeroom teacher in the morning before instruction begins.
The front office will not accept phone calls with a request to change a student’s transportation.
Teachers will not accept requests received through email, text, Dojo, etc.
This includes the first day of school. Students will be sent home on the first day of school by the method of transportation reported at Meet and Greet, unless a written parent note is sent to request a change.
