Designers use empathy to understand the needs of users. It is important to also understand the impact of our design choices and how small details can alter the user's experience with our designs.
Color Theory
Create or draw something (physical or digital) with specific users/viewers in mind.
Use a color pallet that includes at least three colors.
Indicate whether your color pallet is complementary, analogous, or monochromatic.
Write a reflection (or create a well-produced video) that explains your color choices and the mood you are trying to create with them.
Balance
Take or find pictures that show each of the types of balance. (These can be of something you create or something you notice in the world around you.)
Symmetrical Balance
Asymmetrical Balance
Radial Balance
Crystallographic Balance
Create or draw something with a specific type of balance in mind.
Take images that highlight your balance choices.
Write a reflection (or create a well-produced video) that explains the balance and the impact you are trying to create.
Perspective
Create a simple drawing using 1 point perspective. (Take Pictures of it.)
Create a simple drawing using 2 point perspective. (Take Pictures of it.)
Create a more complex drawing using the method of your choice.
Write a reflection (or create a well-produced video) that explains how the use of perspective impacts your drawing.
