TEACHING SYSTEM
Teaching system that's been used in UNP based on the observation i've done is by maintaining the student curiosity to embarked their critical thinking and problem solving skill to make sure they could understand the concept they'll learn in class.ย The teachers will give each of them opportunity to give their opinion or answer based on the Primary Inquiry Question provided by the teacher with games such as pass the paper with random choices of skeleton name and the student the paper in the end of the song will answer the questions that comes with it.
Within one hour learning session, teacher will be expected to manage their time wisely by avoiding getting stuck on a specific segment for a long time so that they could finish all of the learning segment of the day but still have to make sure that the lesson they teach still be taught effectively.
teaching observation on grade 8
Grade 8 was the first class that I've observed on UNP Lab School area. The teaching system used by the student teacher is a group discussion based in the lesson that seems to engage the students to better communicate their opinion on the topic with each other, sharing knowledge and giving/receiving feedback. In the discussion session they also given a clays with different colors to simulate how the movement of a parts in the layer of rocks or surface can affect the other layer. It was a fun and engaging activities to do as the student can know and experience the concept of the topic with a simple model.ย
But, the challenges that i can see occurring in this grade was on how the teacher can effectively managing the class. Since on grade 8. If the teacher can't successfully gain their attention, it'll be difficult to continuing the class since every student can have their own businesses that they're minding over listening to what the teacher is saying.ย
In this class, the student teacher make sure the student keep their attention to the lesson by giving each of them a chance to read-a-loud the vignette that the student teacher given, so that the student not also be aware of the class situation, but also can try to understanding the relation between the vignette that they read with the topic of the day.
teaching observation on grade 5
The 2ndย class that I observed was grade 5 with their lesson focusing on the healthy habit. Since the student on grade 5 are more active in expressing their emotion trough talking or moving, the teacher student was doing a clever tactics for the opening session through a song and dance activities to gaining the students attentions and engaging them to the current topic. This class also includes a group project for the student which is to listing the healthy habits they should do to gain the 100% version of themself (or simply to feel fresh and happy). It was so fascinating to saw the students felt confident to express themself by the way they can presenting their group's answer and knowing that they aware of the importance of the topic to their daily life.

The last different grade that I observed was on Grade 6, and the teaching system used by the student teacher aren't significantly different from the previous grade. The student in the 6th grade are more fond to activities that can make them freely moving. With the lesson activities that filled with song and movement (mostly movement that related to how the bones functioning in the skeletal system) not just help the student to easily understand the concept of how the bones can move and what each of their function is, but also to know what each bones can do, or what movement can they caused on our body. The teacher also prepare a visual model of human skeletal system in the form of terpapel so the student can identify the places and forms of human bones. But overall, the evaluation system that the student teacher used are the mvp of the lesson. Which the "pass the box" game, with the box filled with random question about the topic that the student must answer if they got the box at the same time the music stopped, it was entertainingย way to do evaluation but also can keep all of the student attention and awareness to prepare themself if they got the box.
teaching observation on grade 5
The last class that i observed was on Grade 5 (same as previous one) but with a different topic and also different student teacher. In this class observation,ย the student teacher used a 3d model to introduced the student about the reproduction system of human with the help of the visualization of specific part of the male and female reproduction in the PowerPoint presentation that follows with the real/fake question regarding the statement given by the student teacher to evaluate the student knowledge on the topic. The student also given the opportunity to tell their own version of how to take care of their own reproduction organs, in this Q&A session was the main focus on the lesson since the student teacher can determine the students knowledge about the topic by relating to their daily life and the importance of the topic they learn.
