Hello there! My name is Zane Moore, and I recently graduated from UCI, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design and Interactive Media with Cum Laude honors! My hobbies include playing/watching sports, running, watching movies/shows, visiting amusement parks, and of course, playing video games.
My video game journey began in 2006 when my parents got my brother and me a Wii for Christmas. From that moment on, my love for video games only grew stronger, and over the years, I've gained valuable skills that not only made me a better student but also helped shape me as a person.
While my childhood was filled with a deep passion for playing video games, it wasn’t until college that I considered making them. When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to study computer science, but I was still uncertain about my future career so I enrolled in community college to focus on general education courses and explore my options. In one of my first programming classes, I was tasked with creating a basic game, which ended up being Hangman. I absolutely enjoyed that experience, and in that moment, I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a video game developer.
The following semester rolled around and I dove headfirst into the courses that would set me up to transfer to a California university with a strong game design program. Fortunately, I was accepted into the newly established Game Design program at UCI, one of my top choices. During my time there, I gained more knowledge about video game development and the gaming industry than I ever imagined. The classes I took have not only sharpened my skills as a game developer and programmer but they have also introduced me to many awesome new friends.
