Highlights of Learning:
During my student teaching at Ridge Lawn Elementary School, I wanted to bring real-life connections into the classroom. As a class, we were reading a book called Front Desk about a Chinese immigrant. I brought in Yuri, a talented Chinese artist, to present about her culture, life, and artwork. Thus, students were able to make book-to-real life connections.
During my student teaching at Ridge Lawn Elementary School, my goal was to ensure that all my students' needs were met. Many of my students were ELLs or newcomers. Thus, I often offered visuals, translations, and other differentiated supports to best help my students' academic success.
Highlights of Leadership:
During my time at Trinity Christian College, I held mutiple leadership positions. I was the founder and president of the International/TCK student club in which we held multiple events, like the multicultural fashion show. I was also the vice president of Future Teach Association and the President of Women Empowered. Allowing me to use my leadership to help diverse backgrounds of students feel included. My passions for advocating for many different groups of students allowed me to earn the award for the Diversity Scholar of the Year (2022) at Trinity Christian College.
