傳統布袋戲之盔帽

冠、盔、帽、巾總稱為 「盔帽」，演師們習慣稱為「頭戴」，形式繁多，大致分為硬盔和軟巾兩種。硬盔係牽粉線於盔帽上，成為圖樣後貼上金箔，再綴上絨球、珠子；軟巾則於綢緞上繡好圖案，黏於剪裁好之硬紙板，燙平摺成帽式後，再盤上金蔥，鑲綴珠玉，佩以絨球。

Puppet headgear consists of crowns, helmets, hats, caps and turbans. There are a great variety of types, but in general these may be classified into two main categories-hard and soft. Hard headgear is decorated by outlining the design in chalk, over which is stuck sold foil, before felt balls and pearl beads are sewn on. Soft headgear is made of embroidered silk which is glued onto shaped card and then pressed flat or folded into the required style, before finally being decorated with gold braid, inlaid with jewels and fitted with felt balls. Common types of headgear are as follow:

Hard headgear: Imperial Cap(worn by emperors)、Shrimp-tail Helmet(worn by emperor`s brothers)、Lesser Phoenix Crown (Worn by top graduate`s wife)、Chief Minister`s Sable(worn by chief ministers)、State Elder`s Sable( worn by military commanders of noble rank)、Four-cornered Cap(worn by second-rank civil officials, red version worn by top palace graduate)、Buddha Hat (worn by Buddhist lords )、Flat Crown(worn by feudal lords)、Great Phoenix Crown(worn by imperial consorts)、Black Sable(worn by Pao Cheng and Tsao Tsao only)、Golden Sable(worn by senior officials)、Military Commander`s Helmet(worn by Commander`s -in-chief)、Kuan Kung Helmet(green, worn only by Kuan Kung； there is also a white version, worn by Yueh Fei and Chao Yun )、Lotus Helmet(worn by regional generals or Chang Fei, Chou Tsang and Ma Chao)、Tiger Helmet(worn by deputy commanders or imperial guards)、Round Cap(worn by comic officials and lowly civil officials),etc.

Soft headgear: Civil Male Turban(worn by civilian male lead)、Comic`s Turban(worn by comic role)、Sloping-edge Turban(worn by heroes or greenwood warriors)、Hexagonal Soft Hat(worn by heroes or greenwood warriors )、Martial Male Turban (worn by martial roles with civil accomplishments)、Seven Star Turban(worn by Taoist adepts, military instructors)、Butterfly Wing Turban(worn by supernumerary appointees)、Ching Mandarin Hat(worn by Ching dynasty Mandarin)、Bowl Hat(worn by Ching dynasty civilians),etc.
