MD SHAD ALI
Shad completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from GEC Aurangabad, Bihar, and is pursuing his M.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering at IIT Ropar. His current research is centered on the Optimization of Dual Combustion HVAF coating processes, with emphasis on carbide-based coatings (WC-CoCr, Cr₃C₂-NiCr) on aluminum and steel substrates to improve wear resistance, durability, and surface performance. He has also executed projects on tool wear behavior in micro-EDM, process parameter optimization in deep drawing, and the design of an automated motorbike side-stand system. His expertise spans surface engineering, coating characterization (SEM-EDS, XRD, Optical Microscopy), and mechanical testing (microhardness, wear, fracture toughness).
Abhishek Kumar Singh holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering
S. Akhil Teja received his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). His undergraduate project focused on CFD-based thermal analysis of an automotive radiator using magnesium oxide and graphene nanofluids, where he investigated heat transfer enhancement and cooling performance using computational fluid dynamics tools.
He is currently pursuing his Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. His Master’s research is centred on developing advanced surface-engineered heat dissipation solutions, with a primary focus on cold spray–fabricated copper/graphene micro-finned surfaces for heat spreaders. His work integrates experimental coating fabrication and characterisation (SEM, EDS, XRD, microhardness, porosity analysis) with CFD-based thermal simulations using ANSYS Fluent to optimise fin geometry and thermal performance.
In parallel, he is also working on robotic path planning and nozzle angle optimisation for cold spray coating on planar and curved substrates, addressing challenges related to constant stand-off distance, coating uniformity and deposition efficiency. His research interests broadly include cold spray technology, thermal management materials, surface engineering, CFD-driven design optimisation, and advanced coating characterisation.
