Welcome to YourLab!
It is my privilege to welcome you to YourLab, a dedicated research facility committed to creating a comprehensive ecosystem for research, development, and innovation in Surface Engineering.
Established during the academic year 2009–2010, the laboratory was founded through the tireless efforts of highly motivated research scholars and postgraduate students. Since its inception, YourLab has been continuously nurtured by a vibrant and dynamic community of young researchers, including Postdoctoral fellows, research scholars, and postgraduate and undergraduate students, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
With generous financial support from several national and international funding agencies, complemented by strong industrial collaboration, YourLab is proud to house a National Facility on High-Pressure Cold Spray. This state-of-the-art facility enables students, academicians, scientists, and industry professionals across the country to undertake cutting-edge research in cold spray–based surface engineering, additive manufacturing, and repair technologies.
Beyond research and development activities, the laboratory actively hosts student interns from various universities and regularly organizes awareness programs, hands-on training sessions, and workshops focused on cold spray and thermal spray technologies. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.
We warmly invite students, academicians, researchers, and industrialists to collaborate with YourLab in developing innovative engineering solutions to challenges of national and international importance. The laboratory welcomes novel ideas and engagement in all forms, including collaborative research, consultancy, and scientific social responsibility initiatives, to advance the science and technology of surface engineering and additive manufacturing.
Laboratory visits and guided tours are available by prior appointment.
We look forward to meaningful collaborations and impactful innovations.

First Ever International Cold Spray Conference & Expo (ICSC 2026) – A landmark event in Cold Spray Technology from 23-25 Jan, organized by the Indian Thermal Spray Association, held at IITM Research Park, Chennai
Under the presidentship of Prof. Harpreet Singh, the organizing committee successfully conducted the first-ever International Cold Spray Conference & Expo (ICSC 2026) at IITM Research Park, Chennai. This pioneering event marked a milestone in advancing cold spray technology in India and beyond.
The conference began with the lighting of the diya and the formal inauguration of the Souvenir, symbolizing the start of a journey dedicated to innovation and collaboration.
A highly interactive panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Dheepa Srinivasan (PhD), set the tone by highlighting the growing importance of cold spray technology. The theme of the conference—“Cold Spray: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions”—captured the essence of this emerging field and inspired thought-provoking discussions.
Prof. Harpreet Singh delivered an insightful talk titled “Cold Spray Deposition of Martensitic NAB for Repair and Coating Applications”. He also chaired a technical session where several impactful presentations showcased cutting-edge research and applications of cold spray.
Over three days, the conference brought together leading researchers, industry experts, and young scholars. It truly fulfilled its vision: to present new concepts, introduce fresh perspectives, and give a sharper edge to cold spray technology while fostering meaningful connections and collaborations.
The success of ICSC 2026 reflects the growing momentum of cold spray technology as a transformative surface engineering solution.
