Research Associate III
Dr. Ameey received her PhD jointly from IIT Madras and Swinburne University, Australia, in October 2021 on ‘Developing Thermal Spray High Entropy Alloys for Bond Coat Applications’. She joined the CoE in July 2023 as Research Associate III. Her responsibilities include leading and managing multiple projects under the CoE, liaising with industry partners on their respective projects, as well as assisting members of the Surface Engineering Lab with their research. Her research interests span thermal spray technology, developing novel materials for extreme environments, and studying their structure-property correlations.
Research Interests
Developing thermal spray coating solutions for the application in extreme environments.
Designing novel materials (such as multi-principle element alloys and composites) for high and ultra-high temperature applications.
Exploring fundamental mechanisms of materials degradation using advanced characterization techniques.
Investigating the effect of post processing treatments to improve properties of thermal spray coatings.

Current responsibilities as RA III: Liaising with industry partners under the Centre of Excellence to develop solutions for their specific research problems, as well as supporting graduate students with their research.
