Establishment of a long-term monitoring system
The method that makes it easy for anyone to participate in monitoring, such as trail repair work
Data Collection and Analysis:
The long-term monitoring system involves collecting data on various physical geography factors that affect trail erosion. This include precipitation levels, trail erosion rates, vegetation cover changes, trail usage patterns, and the effectiveness of degradation control measures. Analyzing these data over the long term will provide insights into trends and help identify critical areas needing attention.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Involving various stakeholders is essential for the success of the monitoring system. Stakeholders include trekkers/hikers, park management authorities (MoE and Forest Agency), local governments, local communities, environmental NPOs, university researchers, and visitors who use the trails. Each group can contribute perspectives and resources, such as local knowledge, funding, technical expertise, and volunteer efforts.
