SEE – What did we see?
I participated in the YCS St. John's Deanery Bantwal Convention – Yuva Ekvote, held at Modankap Church Hall. The day began with breakfast, followed by the inauguration and an ice-breaking session. Rev. Fr. Roshan D'Cunha, Diocesan Director of YCS, introduced us to the YCS Movement by explaining its vision, objectives, and methodology. He also conducted an awareness session on substance abuse, followed by a CELL meeting, and later celebrated the Holy Eucharist. Lunch was served after the Holy Mass. In the afternoon, Rev. Fr. Alwyn led an inspiring session on "Family – A Divine Call." The DEXCO team energized the participants through games and action songs. The convention concluded with a message by Rev. Fr. Victor, and ice cream was served before we departed.
JUDGE – What did we think?
The convention helped me understand the importance of living according to Christian values and being an active member of the YCS Movement. The session on substance abuse made me realize the harmful effects of addiction, while the session on family reminded me that love, unity, and prayer are the foundation of every Christian family.
ACT – What did we do?
Through the sessions and discussions, I resolved to participate more actively in YCS activities, spread awareness about substance abuse, strengthen family relationships, and practice the YCS methodology in my daily life.
Experience of the Participant
The convention was a meaningful and enriching experience. Every session inspired me to grow in faith, leadership, and responsibility. The Holy Eucharist, interactive activities, fellowship, delicious breakfast and lunch, and the ice cream at the end made the day memorable.
I sincerely thank the YCS Central Council, Rev. Fr. Anil Roshan, Deanery Director, Mr. Praveen, Deanery Animator, and the YCS St. John's Deanery Bantwal team for organizing and hosting the convention successfully.
Evaluation
The convention strengthened my understanding of the YCS Movement and motivated me to become a more responsible and active young Catholic. I look forward to putting the lessons learned into practice and serving both the Church and society.
