Nearly half of the land in the United States is devoted to agriculture.  Conserving and protecting natural resources is essential to sustaining our country.

The Division of Soil and Water Conservation, the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission, and each of the 96 Soil and Water Conservation District offices in NC work together to promote the protection and improvement of soil and water resources throughout our state.

The mission of all NC Soil and Water Conservation Districts is to foster voluntary, incentive-driven management of soil, water, and related natural resources for the benefit of the environment, economy, and all citizens.
