• Does Yadkin SWCD perform perk tests or water tests for county residents? 
  No.  Contact the Yadkin County Environmental Health Department at 336-849-7687.

• Does Yadkin SWCD issue well permits? 
  No.  Contact the Yadkin County Central Permitting Office at 336-849-7905.

• I'm interested in creating a pond on my property.  Who do I contact for information?

• Does Yadkin SWCD test soil?  
  No.  Yadkin SWCD does NOT test soil – testing is done by the Agronomic Division of the NC Department of Agriculture.   Free soil boxes and instructions are located on the front door of the Yadkin County Cooperative Extension Service at 2051 Agricultural Way, Yadkinville, NC.   The NC Department of Agriculture charges a testing fee per box from December to March.  Testing is free from April to November.  

• I want to buy an Agricultural District sign. Do I purchase them from Yadkin SWCD?  
  No.  The Agricultural District signs displayed throughout the county are purchased by landowners who have applied and been accepted into the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program.  For more information on Voluntary Agricultural Districts, contact the Yadkin County Cooperative Extension office at  336-849-7908.

• Does Yadkin SWCD issue Sedimentation and Erosion Control Permits or Plans?
  No.  Contact the Land Quality Division of the NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) at 336-776-9800.

Yadkin SWCD is not a regulatory agency.  We cannot force landowners to correct erosion issues or to address natural resource concerns.  If communication with the landowner does not solve the issue, contact the NC Department of Environmental Quality office at 336-776-9800 for assistance. 

• Who do I contact to report someone who has diverted water to my property, causing erosion?
