VibroMet 2 is a vibratory polisher with a large working surface (12 in) for multiple samples. It is designed to prepare high quality polished surfaces for a wide variety of applications, including EBSD, nanoindentation, and HR-DIC. The horizontal oscillation technique produces exceptional flatness and a stress-free surface without need for the hazardous electrolytes required by electro-polishers

We have an automatic hot monunting machine for mounting samples in acrylic resin for metallography preparation. The mounting mould is compatible with our vribtation polishers and nanoindenter sample holder, making sample preparation more convenient and efficient

We have an automatic slow saw equipped with diamond blade for cutting samples into smaller pieces for ease of sample preparation   

We have an Olympus optical microscope equipped with x5, x10, x20, x50, and x100 lens for metallography analysis.  This is often used after each stage of grinding and polishing to ensure sample quality. Our lab mascot Porcu is show us how this can be used
