It’s a little hard to see with all the swap canceling, but basically if you dodge cancel his N1 at the right time his stand/shadow will do N2 while you are dodging and give you a second stack. For those looking to optimize it's technically possible to achieve a 4 Death Messenger combo when peforming Dash cancels perfectly, leading to an overall DPS increase. This rotation and combo is widely considered to be one of the hardest in the entire game to pull off, so even though it exists, achieving it at all, let alone consistantly is seen as the holy grail.
