WHEN should you take the Praxis? Since licensure exams are intended to assess understanding of program course work and field experiences, English Education candidates generally complete the Praxis exam toward the end of Core 3 or during Core 4.
Get your licensure exam(s) paid for! Click HERE to apply for a test voucher, made possible by a generous gift from Credit Union of America, in partnership with WSU's College of Applied Studies.
A voucher can only be used when scheduling an exam and can only be used to cover the cost of the exam. Exams that students have already paid for cannot be reimbursed.
Applications are reviewed on the first and third Monday of every month. Students will be notified within 3-4 weeks of applying.
Voucher awards are based on available funding. Not all applicants who apply are guaranteed to receive a voucher.

The Teacher Licensure Capstone (TLC), which takes place during Core 4, requires that you demonstrate how you use district, school, classroom and community contextual factors to design and deliver a unit of study that is standards-based and responsive to your students' needs and developmental levels. You will provide information about the unit’s learning objectives, lesson plans, assessments, and how how you modify instruction for a subgroup of students or one focus student. You will also reflect on the implementation of the unit for the whole class and the subgroup of students or the focus student. The TLC is required for licensure, and you can learn more about it HERE.
