Core 3 Practice Observation

During the Core 3 Kick-Off Meeting, mentor teachers, interns, and university supervisors engage in a practice observation and assessment of a 15-minute video-recorded lesson available for critique on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website.  Use the abbreviated KEEP form (below) to assess and evaluate the teacher's instructional practice.  Then, compare your own scores and feedback to the compiled feedback from participants in previous years.

Below, you will find my scores and comments for this teaching video, as well as compiled scores and feedback from mentor teachers, interns, and university supervisors from 2023 and previous years. 

Note: Viewing the same video over multiple Core 3 kick-off meetings allows us to compare feedback across cohorts, while also allowing mentor teachers who serve over multiple consecutive years to see more in the video (you always catch more with multiple viewings/readings of a text). Additionally, this video is particularly well-made, relatively short, and promotes productive and constructive dialogue.
