I believe it is absolutely critical to include a bibliography of resources that have been instrumental in my development of this eportfolio, as well as my development as a writer:
-My brother for poking fun at how awful I am at technology. The hardest part of this portfolio was not the analysis paper or the organization of my works but rather the transferring of everything onto a website. But I guess that's what little brothers are for. Thank you for helping me realize that I made the wise decision to minor in Writing instead of Computer Science like you.
-All of my Writing professors: Dr. Lancaster, Dr. Aull, Dr. Smith, Dr. Boyle. Thank you for providing detailed, thoughtful feedback on all of my assignments and instilling in me a love of the English language and an appreciation for the writing process.
-My WRI 350 classmates who have provided me with invaluable feedback during our peer review sessions.
-All of my professors in the Classics Department. Thank you for helping me increase my ability not only to read Latin and Greek, but also to appreciate the beautiful (more powerful?)aspects of these languages that are absent from the English language. And thank you for focusing on those annoying grammar points and accent marks, even though I complained about them. I have now learned that little rhetorical choices and linguistic qualities like those can make a huge rhetorical difference.
-My roommates for putting up with me whenever I barge into the room and start raving about an interesting rhetorical discovery or a Latin derivative.
-My AP English teachers at Bishop Ireton High School: Mrs. Gilligan and Sister Liz. You've gotten some shade thrown at you on this site when I lamented the prescriptive rules I was taught in high school, but I truly am grateful for the instruction that I received. It provided me with an excellent foundation to build off of, and I would not be the writer that I am today if I hadn't had your support and encouragement to always keep working hard to improve my writing.
-My parents for their continued support in all my academic pursuits, even though I'm sure you are constantly bombarded with questions about what on earth your daughter will do with a Latin major and a Writing minor. I promise I will continue to keep you on your toes with how you'll be answering that!
