Our Educational Learning Experience is loosely based upon a cooking show name "Chopped." By adding our own little twist we were able to incorporate a fun experience into our presentation which helped keep the audience engaged. We choose to create this ELE because we felt it was a perfect way to show our participants that meal prepping isn't something you need to grocery shop for. Meal prepping can be done with stuff that is already in your pantry. We required our participants to abide by the MyPlate guidelines to complete their meal.
Get into groups of 4-5.
Select your group’s grocery shopper to collect ingredients off the front table and Select the Reporter of the group.
The shopper will then get 45 seconds to get up to the table and grab all the ingredients they want (must incorporate every ingredient into their dish)
Each group will get 3 minutes to discuss the meal prep dish they are going to make with the ingredients collected.
The reporter will share with the rest of the class why their group chose to make their dish and how it best aligns with the MyPlate guidelines.
A group will be chosen as the winner of Meal Prep Wars and will be rewarded a prize.
