We are in the homestretch on our way to Band Camp. The Leadership and Boosters are hard at work coming up with a fun competition and lots of treats for you. Make sure you have planned ahead and will be ready. The biggest thing I notice is that too many of you are not bringing enough (or any!) water to rehearsals. Hydration is a big part of Marching Band and you need a big enough Water Jug. Honestly, even a gallon isn't overkill! Check the list to make any orders now so you have what you need by August 3!
Tonight's rehearsal will be inside. Use the Kitchen door. Leadership starts at 5:30 tonight. IF YOU DIDN'T GET THE REMIND INFO EARLIER TODAY, SEE ME TONIGHT SO WE CAN FIX THAT. Stay tuned for more info about trailer gear. We will focus on music - lots and lots of music! Hopefully you have been practicing at home and building up some stamina. We will also pracitce music on Thursday this week 6-8. Check the previous update for important info about music.
Focus on your physical this month - it should be DONE BEFORE BAND CAMP. Physicals are needed to participate in marching band. Use THIS LINK for all the info and step by step instructions. This must be done by July 28. If you haven't started this process yet, do it TODAY!
9 July 2026
Great job on the parade! I was super proud of all of you. We sounded and looked great. That was HARD and you did it! I promise that's the worst thing we do all year. The rest of this month will be used for getting ready for band camp. We have music to learn!
In the Google Drive Flip Folders you should be able to access all your music. Look for your instrument and then find the Show Me the Money folder. We are playing:
1 Money for Nothing - this is mostly FE with an alto sax and trombone solo. It has a big hit at the end.
2 Cheap Thrills - mark a cut in your music. We will NOT be playing measures 25-48
3 Virtual Unreality - this is battery and FE only. We WILL be using some of the windline to play percussion instruments in this. There is also a cut in this one; do not play 42-57
4 Into the Light - ballad with a trumpet solo
5 Give Me Everything Tonight - closer
Other music that we will be playing this month:
Star Spangled Banner
Stands Basics (includes Alma Mater, Rocky tag and Hail to the Varsity)
September (parades)
Thriller
Don't Stop Believin'
Enter Sandman
Mr Brightside
Toxic
Welcome to the Jungle
(there are more but we will start with these)
You must have a binder for your music. Please get one or ask Ms Sheridan. You will also need page protectors. Bring a pencil to every rehearsal.
We will not be running the trip to DCI this year. It's far and there just wasn't enough interest. Hopefully next year!
Starting next week we will start using the gate at Shoemaker instead of the Snack Shack entrance for most rehearsals. We will also start holding music rehearsals on Thursdays while the drumline practices. It should be our goal to have music learned at a basic level by August.

Remember, if you need to miss a rehearsal, tell Ms Sheridan or the staff member in your section, and ALSO fill out this conflict form.
