Perry County Job & Family Services will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive in New Lexington on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the JFS Opportunity Center located at 5250 State Route 37 in New Lexington.

The Perry County Gun Bash takes place at the Perry County Fairgrounds Saturday, Sept. 12 in New Lexington.
The event will be open from Noon until 8 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at one of several retail locations across Perry, Fairfield and Muskingum counties.

The 31st annual Backwoods Fest returns to Thornville Sept. 18-20.
The weekend features over 300 unique vendors with all sorts of unique finds, plus tons of bluegrass music and over 30 different food vendors to satisfy any taste bud.
Admission is $12 per person. Children 10 and under are free. The Backwoods Fest opens each morning at 8 a.m., closing at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The annual Perry County Chamber of Commerce Car Show will be Saturday, Oct. 3.
This year's car show will be at Thornville Community Park at 100 Park Drive from 1 to 5 p.m.
Car registrations begin at 1 p.m. with awards being handed-out by 4:30 p.m. that afternoon. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, music by Ron Baker, and the Thornville Village Food Truck Rally.
The Summer Crisis Program is available to residents of Hocking, Athens and Perry County through Sept. 30.
The program helps income-eligible households by providing a one-time benefit for cooling assistance, air conditioner repairs, or fans and window units.

Perry County Transit is helping area residents access needed food resources in the community.
Residents needing a ride to an area food pantry may call Transit at 740-342-2810 at least 24 hours in advance of their planned trip.
Rides are offered Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fares are based on the destination, and out-of-county services may be available.
OhioHealth's Wellness on Wheels Mobile Clinic makes weekly stops at the Perry County Health Department.
The mobile clinic will be available every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. offering primary care, pediatric care, women's health and OB services.
