Central Ohio Coonhunters Hosting Weekly Fall Fest Through October

The Central Ohio Coonhunters are hosting their Fall Fest and Hayride every Saturday evening in October.

The club will have kid-friendly activities and hayrides from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Those looking for something more scary or creepy can join the fun from 7 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person or $10 per carload. Kids will be able to receive a free pumpkin for attending. Central Ohio Coonhunters is located at 6995 Coonpath Road NW in Carroll.

Alley Park Pumpkin Hike set for Saturday, Oct. 24

Alley Park in Lancaster will have its annual Pumpkin Hike on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The day begins with pumpkin carving from 8 to 11 a.m. Kids and adults can come out and carve a pumpkin to display at the park.

Later that evening, the park will have a bonfire with concessions from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The trail will be open for hiking from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Alley Park is located at 2805 Old Logan Road SE just south of Lancaster.

Humane Society's Barktoberfest Returns Oct. 23-24

The Fairfield Area Humane Society is hosting its annual Barktoberfest and Haunted Trail at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds, Oct. 23-24.

The weekend begins Friday, Oct. 23 with the haunted trail at the Round Barn from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Saturday inclufrd activities at the fairgrounds dining hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the haunted trail reopening that evening from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The dining hall will have food, raffles, pet costume contests and trick-or-treating, and games for the kids. Raffles will also be available with proceeds going towards the Humane Society.

The Fairfield County Fairgrounds is located at 157 E. Fair Ave. in Lancaster.

Historical Aircraft Squadron Museum Hosting USO-Style Dance Oct. 24

Fairfield County's Historical Aircraft Squadron Museum will host its 30th annual USO Style Hangar Dance on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The event features The Nostalgics Big Band playing classic tunes and a huge collection of vintage planes and military vehicles ton display.

A dance lesson will be offered at 6:30 p.m. with the event starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and include a complimentary barbecue buffet.

Heritage Association's Cemetery Tour Explores Firehouse Park on Oct. 25

The Fairfield County Heritage Association will host their annual Cemetery Tour in Downtown Lancaster Sunday, Oct. 25.

Attendees will learn about the City Burial Grounds, Lancaster's first municipal cemetery. The cemetery was originally located off E. Chestnut Street, sitting underneath the present-day Firehouse Park.

Learn about the cemetery's history and some of the people who are still buried there. Admission is $15 for FCHA members and $20 for the general public.

CBA Hosting Costume Contest During Trick-Or-Treat Oct. 29

The Carroll Business Association will have a costume contest for kids and teens during Trick-or-Treat on Thursday, Oct. 29.

CBA members will be set-up at the Bessie Benson Park Gazebo off Center Street starting at 7:30 p.m.

Prizes will be given to first, second and third-place costumes for kids 7 and under, 8 to 12, and 13 to 18 years old. No pre-registrations are required, just stop-by after Trick-or-Treating.

Lancaster Camp Ground Hosting Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 30

Lancaster Camp Ground invites the community to their annual Trunk-Or-Treat event on Friday, Oct. 30.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. in the front parking area. Campfires will also be set-up for families to roast hot dogs and make s'mores.

Hayrides will be offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. taking riders through the historic Camp Ground property.

Amanda Village Combines Harvest Festival with Halloween for 2026

The Village of Amanda invites everyone to join their reimagined Amanda Harvest & Halloween Festival, happening Saturday, Oct. 31.

This year's event features fun, kid-centered activities such as a costume contest, games, food trucks and plenty of vendors starting at noon.

Activities will be going on along Main Street during and after the community trick-or-treat happening that evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

FCHA Fall Meeting Taking Place Nov. 4

The Fairfield County Heritage Association will have its fall meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and features guest speaker Tom O'Grady, an instructor at Ohio University for 30 years.

Tom's presentation will discuss the barn builders who settled in Ohio and how their architecture gave hints about where they came from.

Admission is $20 per person with coffee and a frozen custard sundae bar available. The meeting will be at the Lancaster Masonic Lodge at 224 S. High Street.

Senior Hub, Library Help Elderly Navigate Technology Hurdles

The Senior Hub of Fairfield County and the Fairfield County District Library are teaming up to help older adults with technology.

The free classes will be offered at The Senior Hub off Cedar Hill Road in Lancaster 10 to Noon the fourth Monday of each month.

Seniors will learn how to use a cell phone to make calls, text, take photos, use apps, and stay in touch with family and friends. They’ll also be able to learn computer basics like sending emails and using the internet with confidence.

Lancaster DAV Connects Veterans Through Monthly Meetings

The Lancaster Chapter of Disabled American Veterans meets the second Saturday of every month at 11 a.m. Meetings take place at the American Legion Post #11 off Canal Street in Lancaster.

Lancaster DAV meetings are open to veterans residing in Fairfield, Hocking and Perry Counties and are a great way of learning about local resources for disabled veterans.

Fairfield Center For Independence Offers Medical Equipment Library

The Fairfield Center For Independence offers a Medical Equipment Library for any Fairfield County resident.

Residents in need of a wheelchair, knee scooters, crutches or other mobility equipment can borrow these items at no cost through FCI.

FCI also offers free adult incontinence supplies for any patient who needs them.
