Infrared imaging system (FT-IR) Spotligth400
This instrument performs infrared microscopy. It is capable of recording vibrational spectra of organic and inorganic samples, as well as mapping areas from microns to hundreds of square microns. The instrument is connected to the Frontier Spectrometer's infrared light source, with which it shares much of the optics. The instrument allows measurements in the mid-infrared (MIR, between 7800 and 350 cm-1) and far-infrared (FIR, from 700 to 30 cm-1), with an MCT detector (mercury-cadmium telluride cooled to cryogenic temperatures). The instrument operates in signal ratio or single beam modes. The instrument is operated by the SpectrumImage software on a dedicated computer. It has a platform that allows different sample holders to be positioned for transmittance, reflectance or ATR (attenuated total reflectance) analysis.
Operation Modes:
Standard platform: MIR and FIR transmittance measurements on thin or transparent samples; MIR and FIR reflectance and diffuse reflectance measurements on solid, particulate or liquid samples.
Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) accessory: MIR reflectance measurements of opaque or thick samples, whether in crystalline form, layers, powders or liquids.
Applications in fields of study such as: Materials Science, Pharmaceuticals, Polymers, Dentistry, Biomaterials, Archaeology, Art, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.
