PROGRESS REPORTS ARE IN FRIDAY FOLDERS!
On Wednesday, our 4th graders had a wonderful experience with A Touch of Understanding visiting our campus! Students participated in activities designed to help them better understand the experiences and perspectives of people with disabilities while building empathy, awareness, and respect for others.
I was incredibly proud of our 4th graders! They were respectful, attentive, engaged, and did an excellent job demonstrating the Westlake Way throughout the experience.
Your student is bringing home a short survey provided by A Touch of Understanding. They have asked that families complete the survey together with their student to reflect on today's experience.
Once the survey is completed, please have your student return it to school. I will collect the surveys and send them back to A Touch of Understanding.
Thank you for taking the time to talk with your student about today's experience and for helping us continue these important conversations at home!
The 19th Annual Olympic Triathlon Event Day on Friday was the highlight of our one big fundraising campaign each year, which runs through Wednesday, September 30th! CLICK HERE to watch the video with more information about the Olympic Triathlon. Then, if you haven’t done so already, CLICK HERE to set up your family donation page on the PledgeStar website - it’s not too late! You can customize it with your student’s name, a photo, and a donation goal. It is easy to quickly request sponsors via email or text, explaining why Westlake is amazing and how they can help us meet our goal this year.
