Week 7: 9/21-9/25

CLASSROOM CONTENT

LANGUAGE ARTS: Next week, students will take their benchmark on context clues. If, for any reason, they do not pass, there will be a couple of reteach lessons followed by a re-take of the assessment. Next week we will continue to work on Unit 3 in our phonics curriculum Fundations.

MATH: Students will continue learning about the parts of a fraction and how to find equivalent fractions.

SCIENCE: Students will continue their animal adaptations unit, doing expert groups on different ocean animals.

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING: Our Core Value for the month of September is Respect and Responsibility, so we will also focus on these topics during our Morning Meetings.

BENCHMARK ASSESSMENTS AND RETAKES: Assessments are tentatively scheduled but may change depending on student progress.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: A Touch of Understanding: On Wednesday, September 23rd, we will have our on-site field lesson, A Touch of Understanding, which provides disability awareness programs designed to educate a new generation to understand the challenges associated with disabilities and to accept and respect all individuals. This is a great experience that fourth graders get to participate in, and it’s all on campus! Here’s their website if you want to learn more! Your donations help make these field lessons possible! OLYMPIC TRIATHLON

The 19th Annual Olympic Triathlon, our one big fundraising campaign each year, is in full swing! CLICK HERE to watch the video with more information. FALL BREAK: Both campuses will be closed for Fall Break Monday, October 5th through Friday, October 9th. We look forward to welcoming staff and students back on Monday, October 12th.
