"Blood is thicker than water."

Every vampire belongs to a clan. Clans are ancient bloodlines that claim to share a lineage with the first vampire. Vampire clans are more than dividing lines of political affiliation or family: A vampire's clan defines the very nature of their curse. When a vampire Embraces a mortal, the mortal inherits all of the strengths and weaknesses of that vampire's clan.

When selecting candidates for the Embrace, vampires will typically look for individuals that exemplify all of the characteristics of their clan. However, vampires are not perfect judges of character and mistakes are sometimes made.

Every clan has its own unique set of Disciplines as well as a Bane.
