We live in a fast-paced on-demand just-in-time delivery kind of world. Most people are not planning for major potential problems. As a prepared patriot we should strive to be as self-reliant and self-sufficient as possible. Supply chain disruptions, rationing, looting, or even something as simple as job loss are all situations that can be planned for and at least partially mitigated.
What we call a "Prepper" today is what you grandparents would have called normal and expected when they were young. TV shows like Doomsday Prepper have really done a disservice to the prepared community. A prepared person is harder to manipulate by The State. When the power goes out and the water stops running people start panicking. We don't have to be like that. Think and plan ahead. Store extra of what you consume. Then, when everyone else starts losing their minds, you can think clearly and make good decisions.
