Many people think that being isolated from the church is OK. It is not. It makes you weaker; more vulnerable. Our Adversary is like a roaring lion seeking to devour the faithful. When We separate from the flock we become easier targets. We lack the support of our brothers and sisters. And, on top of all that, we fail to teach our children about the importance of gathering together as one body. We run the risk of not bringing up the next generation in the ways of the Lord if we don't participate in the gathering together as a church body. Let us bind together tightly as a body so as to resist our adversary and hold each other accountable.
Solomon, he wisest person ever to live, said:
"Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart." Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
With the whole body bound together with our Lord Jesus, what could possibly stand against us...
"The people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the LORD which He had done for Israel. Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of one hundred and ten. And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash. All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel."
Judges 2:7-10 NASB (traditionally understood to be written by the prophet Samuel)
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:23-25
