3. Prerequisite: Digital Electronic Circuits (Combinational and Sequential circuits), Microprocessors, Power system Operation Principles.

5. Objectives of the Course: Building the concept of power system protection, laying basic foundation for design of numeric relaying schemes, present state of art in
computer aided protection and future trends in protection.
6. Skill development: Design of numeric relays, Planning and coordination of relaying schemes.

Evaluation Plan:

Mini Project & Assignments - Weightage 25%:
1. Present your mini project work in scheduled seminar for 15 minutes per registrant.
and
2. Demonstrate execution of following Programs on LAPTOP with appropriate plots and explain inferences drawn (during tutorial hour of class):
a. Write Python, MATLAB or C or C++ programs to evaluate following algorithms: 2 samples,3 samples, Half Cycle Window Fourier, and Full cycle Window Fourier. Evaluate their relative performance under random noise, harmonic noise and decaying dc signal conditions. Evaluate all these algorithms based on their frequency response.
b. Write a program to determine frequency of single phase Voltage Phasor and Positive Sequence Voltage Phasors using DFT technique.
Mini Project & Assignments Submission:
1. Mini project work on Design of Data Acquisition System shall be submitted in a booklet (Sessional book).
2. Tutorial on Development of Computer program on Relaying Algorithms:
