PZT micro actuator

The project titled "PZT Micro Actuator" was sponsored by ARMREB, DRDO, Govt. of India, with a total outlay of Rs. 23.75 lakhs. The project commenced on 12.07.2006 and completed successfully on 11.01.2009.

In this project, novel piezoelectric glass-ceramics, based on the “Piezoelectrically Soft” Mn.-doped PZT composition and network forming glass PbO-B₂O₃-SiO₂ were synthesized by sol-gel method and were used for the formulation of Piezoelectric thick film inks. From such formulated PZT Thick film inks, PZT Microactuators with excellent electromechanical characteristics were developed and demonstrated.
